This is the famous second movement of the “Surprise” Symphony transcribed, unabridged, for four flute parts with piano. It is a set of variations on the notoriously simplistic arpeggio theme, known so well as a delightful joke of Haydn’s to awaken any dozing auditors following the first movement of his symphony, no. 94.
