As a founding member, Kara Williams’ first chamber work was written for, and dedicated to, the Riverina’s Assai Quartet (flute, violin, guitar, and bassoon). Allegro ‘Assai’ (titled after the ensemble) combines a gentle pastoral sensibility with quirky harmonic and melodic twists. The interplay between all four instruments weaves a joyous earworm that engages both performers and audience from start to finish. A piano part is included as a substitute for the guitar.
