This is, arguably, Bach’s best known and most loved work. As well as being a piece of eternal perfection, it is a brilliant opportunity for students to explore the way in which Bach’s harmonic movement and counterpoint work so effortlessly together.
While it is not technically difficult to play each individual part, it presents a wonderful interpretive challenge in bringing to life the seemingly endless melodic line and dialogue that waits eagerly to be realised.
In this arrangement, Bach’s original voicing has been fully preserved (who would dare change it!) by transposing the original from D Major into F Major.
