In need of a fun encore piece, this work was written for the Riverina’s Assai Quartet (flute, violin, guitar, and bassoon). Another earworm from the pen of Kara Williams, Hemos Acabado translates as ‘We’ve Finished!’ and channels the energy and style of traditional Latin-American music. At just under two minutes Hemos Acabado features hand percussion and dramatic semiquaver passages grounded by a comforting recurring rhythmic motif: a great inclusion in any program – and not just at the end!
