When Beethoven’s 7th symphony was premiered the second movement had to be encored before the concert could continue. This movement remains one of Beethoven’s favourite pieces. In this arrangement, the central fugue has been cut to keep the work within an intermediate standard while retaining the awe of the symphonic experience for your ensemble. The alto flute part doubles the 4th flute and is an optional addition.
